    Default on reflection....

    ....i'm not remotely bothered.

He's a dis-loyal shitehawk, he's not worth anything like £18m and most importantly Gyan is a much better option to build our team around as he can do more than just finish.

When I was a bairn and clubs were bidding for Phillips I was desperate to keep him but that was different, at times he ran the show completely on his own. His game was about way more than goals. He was leaps and bounds ahead of Bent. When bent isn't scoring he's like a man off. In this situation I'd like to see us exploit the desperation of Villa and get every penny we can. We can use the money to buy a creative midfield player to create chances for the new star of the show.

For all the shit Kenwyne got from our 'support' he never disrespected us like this bloke has.

In other good news; I think this should safely secure Jordan Henderson as a SAFC player until the summer at least

One of the best posts I have read on here today. I'm feeling quite positive about the whole thing, now I have had a couple of hours to think about it. Quite excited to see how we react from here. I don't think we need to have a big name replacement immediately. I can wait until the Summer if we have to to avoid being ripped off. Happy to have someone come in on a short-term deal to tide us over. Europe can wait as far as I am concerned.

Obviously, if we can get someone of quality in who will not bankrupt the club then great, Happy Days Arthur.

Not entirely sure how one big name signing is going to secure the longer term future of another top star

I think he means there is no way we will be selling two regular first team players this window as it would be too difficult to replace them both at short notice.

I get what you're saying but I don't think this is the sort of move that will see a mass exodus....if anything I think it will bring the rest of the squad closer. Wellbeck and Bardsley apparently think he's out of order, hopefully the rest feel the same.
I can't see SAFC allowing two of our prize assets go in one transfer window, how would they then convince anyone they mean business?

Where did you get that snippet from? I thought Bent, Wellbeck & Campbell were all best mates.

This also, January is no time to try and rebuild a squad.

A lad posted it earlier, seemed reasonable enough to assume it's true given the way he offered the info.

He said he spoke to one player who was in the team yesterday and one who wasn't: they both felt Bent should have been honest as we woudl have had a better chance of winning yesterday without his presence.

I see your point now mate. I think my concern (and I'm probably wrong) is that with one star prize going, others may question the intent of the club. However, hopefully Henderson wont leave until end of the season, when we've got time to find a suitable replacement

Sorry disagree with this bit. In this day and age he is worth every bit of 18m, What price would you put on Drogba & Ronney's heads? Because Bent is only 1 goal behind them in the PL scoring charts since 2005! And lets not forget Bent hardly played at Spurs!
I want him to go now, just another mercenary who has bullshitted us all with his i love it here etc etc. Hope he goes to Villa & they get relegated.
My only fear is who replaces him? Whoever it is has some big boots to fill!!
