Default Massive amount of work to be done by.....

Bruce and SNQ IF we are to hit the top 10 again next season.

Just looking at the squad situation and I make it 14 he has to name {as over 21} - GORDON - MIG - BARDO - ELMO - TURNER - FERDY- BRAMBLE - RICO - COLBACK -MEYLER - CATTS - STEED - GYAN - SESSEGNON with Jordan being one of the players you can use but don't have to name as he was born before 1.1.90.

The likes of Cook, Adams, Noble boys, Lynch, Reed, Knott, and Laing need loaning out to give them experience and shouldnt need to be called upon next season as they aren't ready.

Despite Bolo saying his mind could be changed with guarantees of games, SB won't do it so he's gone, whilst Angeleri and Riveros have big doubts against them and I can honestly see them both going.

As for Nos, Killa, Ringo, Tounkare, Liddle, Mvoto and Weir, I think their time is up and caanot see them being allocated a berth.

A squad of 25 definitely needs to be able to be called upon as there are no guarantees whatsoever that next season won't see a similar type of injury situation cropping up. Very unlikely, but as it so nearly scuppered us, no chances can be taken. So, that leaves 10 players to be signed to bring it up to strength !!!!

Who to bring in given budget restraints, availability and realism ????????

Westwood would be good cover esp' as free and experienced.

Would definitely go for Roger Johnson, Hutton and Warnock - not convinced about Figueroa at all - surely our scouts have identified someone by now ??

Reo Coker should be looked at esp' as Catts injury record here is poor and back problems always seem to reoccur, plus Meyler won't be ready til December and without being a pessimistic bassa, his future is by no means certain. Vaughan could certainly do a job as could Larsson and Phillips.

Upfront, DJ Campbell should definitely be on the radar - not quite SKP, but a fox in the box we definitely need. Gameiro surely has bigger fish to fry as does Negredo but either would do !! Crouch or Carew ?? No thanks !! Demba Ba is a definite possibilty whilst N'Zogbia and Rodallega are surely ''gettable'' but costly.

It's going to a real balancing act for Bruce, with fees and trying to get the wage bill to reflect 65-70% of turnover instead of the unsustainable 82% shown in the last accounts.

fans want us to progress and sign quality players but want the wage to turnover ration to lower from 80%.

    it's not possible imo.

9th place, reducing the wage bill, some consistent attractive football and a half decent run in either cup and I would be delirious

Must be a lot lower with Bent gone and the players who'll leave this close season.......we need to keep it that way.

Main issue for me is the manager being able to get the best out of players. You dont always have to spend massive money if you can get a coherent unit together and players working together.

This is Bruce's big test next season - I have my doubts about his ability to do so, but will give him plenty of time to get it right first.

If one or two are leaving..as rumoured ..well be down to around 14 pros with experience..
Its hard to see the owner chipping anymore than £10m...plus whats left of Bents money...as posted wages and turnover have to be balanced by 2012 onwards with new rules...
This is why theres so many frees kicking around....that will help our situation.
If Ba ..WHU...is for nowt...this will be a canny start...along with DJ Campbell and Larsson etc..
Think someone is going to be sold if money is needed...Richardson and Ferd and Steed...have been mentioned...hopefully not Henderson..unless its daft cash...there again Quinny was quoted about this earlier this year..

Didn't we buy a chap called Campbell? Also I think an experienced old hand in midfield and even possibly defence, but up front? I don't think there is a role for SKP or similar anymore. We need a full squad though, agreed and if that means topping up with twilight players or journeymen then that is what it may need to be. I think we need to plan for injuries.

Riveros gave an interview the other day where he stated he expects to be here next season and is hopeful that he'll get more games.

Never know, if he has a good pre-season he could be useful to us next year.

Agreed. We'll have a few players to bed in next season and we've lost our main goal threat, maybe even our number one keeper. I'd be content to see the emergence of one or two fringe players, maybe Colback and Riveros, perhaps one signing that hits the ground running, a little more from Gyan. Being honest I'd settle for 10th to 14th now.
