Default Obama compares oil spill to 9/11

    Here:

    Quote:
“In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11, I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come,”
Given that BP is based in London, should we be worried about the US invading us for our oil?

I heard that Obama's presidency is failing quite rapidly.

Losing it big time in my view. If I was a relative of one of the people who died in the twin towers I would be outraged by this blatant piece of politicking. I was a big fan but his behaviour over this, admittedly tragic, event has been nowhere near the level of statesmanship required of an American President and he has gone down a long way in my estimation.

Did you actually read the quote?
Anyone who gets offended by it is clearly a moron.

He was only comparing it to September the 11th as in the way it will change Americans views about a certain thing.
Did the views of many Americans change with regards to foreign policy after September the 11th? Yes.
Could this change the views of many Americans with regards to the environment? Quite possibly.
He was not saying it was as bad as September 11th, or as important, or whatever.

Shocking disrespect to those brave boys who stormed the beaches of Normandy and defeated the Nazis.

I am not a moron and since you know nothing about me you are not in a position to judge.
I have to own up to not having read the quote, just responded to what I'd heard on the television. If you read my post again you will see that there is reference to his behaviour overall which I think has been decidedly below par. And I still think it's an asinine comparison.
