    Default Dilemma - help

Firstly this isn't a look at me thread, it's a genuine dilemma and it's driving me a bit mad.

My 8 yr old played football last year in a non competitive league and was he stand out player in an average team.

Next season they move to competitive football.

Without realising it at first I have been tapped up to move my son to the best team in the league (probably), through a father of boy in that team who it seems has been asked by their manager to get my boy. They have made a big thing of the links they have with the academies at West Brom, Aston Villa and Leicester City.

My boys manager from this year is gutted and has asked me to give him my boy for one more season as he wants to build his team around him. He is a top bloke and works hard with the boys every week.

Do I show loyalty and piss the best connected team in the area off or do I move my son to give him a chance and opportunity that he won't get in his current club?

At the end of the day he's eight and just loves playing football. He's obsessed with it and already knows more than me.

Move your son to the other club.

    Loyalty gets you no where.

I'd give him a year as the star man at the team he's at. It'll give him confidence and help him learn the game more

Just explain to the other gentleman that you'll move next year

Your son is 8. Let him play where he wants to and has the most fun.

They play twelve other teams twice but the results are not recorded and no league table is kept. To get the boys used to playing together and learn the game.

Tbf, if your lad is a star player, any scouts that are watching the league will probably notice him where he is now.

I don't really want to put him in the position of having to choose. Part of me thinks the whole thing is very wrong but I would hate him to grow up wishing id given him a chance that I withheld from him.

The whole thing of scouts sniffing around eight year old kids is wrong isn't it?
