    Default That Oliver bloke...

Very sorry if this is included on another thread (did a quick scan and was surprised that I couldn't find a mention)... and I'm not familiar with the NEs journalists and people who 'represent' Newcastle.

... but wtf was that bloke doing with the 'poem' about the number 9 shirt at Newcastle on Football Focus? I was so embarrassed I had to temporatrily switch channels (so I'm afraid I missed any poetic content that might have been moving and poignant). I'm sure any self respecting Newcastle supporter would have been cringing as well. I hope to god never to see anything similar about Sunderland.

Did I dream it or did it really happen?

Hadn't you heard? No number 9's are as good as geordie number 9's. Fact. If Chelsea could play with a newcastle number 9 then they would. Alan Oliver shits black and white. Then publishes it.

all the journos have been waxing lyrical about it since it was given to Andy Carroll. They only give it to Messiahs apparently

Sorry to ask someone to put themselves through it, but is there any chance of a transcript of this work of art for the rest of us to enjoy?

Aye, ive noticed this shite about newcastle number 9's recently- the wank fest over carroll is becoming tiresome tbh. I have never heard of newcastle's number 9 shirt being any more important/ poignant to the supporters than any other clubs number 9 shirt
