Shouldn't do. Or I should say pre credit crunch they didnt. I 'self certed' in 07 on a buy to let Mortgage and it went through in less than 7 days. (mortgage acceptance). However now it my be quite a bit different - depending on circumstances

Mortgage companies seem to want to know the far end of a fart these days, took me a while to get my mortgage through even though I had a high deposit, they kept coming back again and again wanting more info they hadn't asked for. They even wanted wage slips despite knowing I had been self employed for 2 years and hadn't been in my new job long enough to get one. Patience is the key, we were on the verge of fucking the whole thing off, thankfully we dent cos it went through in the end.
