    Default Analysis of Rooney's performance

Extremely poor in my opinion - he would either get the ball or lose it, either way he wouldn't run afterwards. He walked all around the pitch, didn't create any space, was in the back pocket of Boughera and co all night, and he acted like a petulant child. The only one who pushed him hard for worst performance of the night was Frank Lampard who on several occasions turned away from the ball as he was clearly scared to receive it.

Rooney needs to be dropped and Crouch and Defoe should start the next match.

Fleet Street would crucify Capello if he does and England don't win.

he looks out of form but he also has had very little service to show any form whatsoever
because he is out of the game he starts to drop back looking for the ball leaving bubba gump heskey up front
the entire team shows poor shape, a lack of width and little heart
to blame it all on one player is misguided at best

Maybe not dropped but at least considered to be substituted so England can put their next best goalscorer on to replace him for the last 20 if things not going well.

more likely Rooney will be on his way home , after a recurrence of the ankle injury , he never really got over at the end of the season.

If you think that then you're misguided - he wasn't dropping back he was just strolling around and everyone overtook him. His lack of effort was an absolute disgrace.

England's next best goalscorer isn't in the squad
