    Default techy help please.

    How come when i plug a usb mouse into the laptop it works no problem but when i plug a round end mouse into a usb converter and then into a laptop there is no response.. is there a driver i can load or something... thanks..

    Hmmm. Not sure if this is the reason, but PS/2 mice (the ones with the round ends) can't be plugged into a running computer. You need to shut it down, plug it in, then switch the computer back on.

    I don't know whether that is a limitation of the PS/2 socket, the mouse itself, or both.

    Does the mouse work if you switch the computer off, plug it in the USB socket, then switch back on?

    Thanks I ll Give it a try as i have only tried plugging it in whilst it is running..

    still not working im afraid..
