    Pure publicity stunt engineered by Becks's 'PR people' to ensure that he gets the Knighthood/Lordship his pushy wife is so desperate to gain, so as to achieve some level of social inclusion other than through her millions of £'s. The idea of Lord and Lady Beckham of Trafford probably occupies her mind evey night.

    And agree with your list of reasons why a simpleton like him shouldn't get the job of ambassador. However in our 'celebrity' obsessed culture he was the obvious choice.
