wow. and not just beat - thumped them. what a pity.

I watched the first final and I have to say it was the best AFL final I've ever seen - as far as tough tackling on the ball and men putting their bodies on the line - pretty phenomenal stuff. You always thought that St. Kilda, after their comeback last week, would find it difficult to get the same energy two weeks in a row.

And you have to remember, a minute left on the clock, game tied, St. Kilda have the ball bouncing around on goal about 15 metres out, about 4 guys just trying to get anything on it to put it over the line for a point, and 1 or 2 Collingwood defenders (it seemed) managing to spoil them time after time.

Out of interest, do you know if there were any injuries/suspensions or extra players who made a difference in the replay, or was it simply that Collingwood turned out to be the better team?

yeah I read a quick review which said that, although when you look at total scoring shots, even if St. Kilda had scored 6 on each they still would have lost to the Magpies.

Makes me wonder if they were kicking so bad that they weren't even scoring points? Or did the Mags just take it away at the end after the Saints had allowed them a massive lead because of inaccuracy?
