Just had this conversation with some one at work... he was against torture.

I can tell you know that if there was someone stood infront of me who had planned to blow up an airport they would be getting more than a bit waterboarding!

Anyone know how you do it. I might try it out on some of my teams at appraisal time.

    From Wiki

Waterboarding is a form of torture that consists of immobilizing the subject on his/her back with the head inclined downwards; water is then poured over the face into breathing passages, thus triggering the mammalian diving reflex causing the captive to experience the sensations of drowning.[1][2] In contrast to submerging the head face-forward in water, waterboarding precipitates an almost immediate gag reflex.[3] It can cause extreme pain, dry drowning, damage to lungs, brain damage from oxygen deprivation, other physical injuries including broken bones due to struggling against restraints, lasting psychological damage and, if uninterrupted, death.[4] Adverse physical consequences can manifest themselves months after the event, while psychological effects can last for years.[5] The term waterboarding was coined in 2004

At the risk of being accused of being a bleeding heart liberal, Bush should be prosecuted for this. (If he can be, I am no lawyer)

As with all forms of torture its great for extracting information from those who have done wrong or who conspire to do wrong... but is it right to use on a potentially innocent person because they are suspected?

We should only use nice methods of torture, like the comfy chair.

As with any forms of torture, you can get anybody to say anything.

Would I torture somebody to get information that would save family? Yes.

Do I think the State should torture people to do the same thing? No.

It begs the question...What new torture could replace it?

I think that tomato should be cooked (fried) with it's skin on then place on their mouth and whilst hot and then burst. That will teach the fuckers.
