I know that the BlackCats have their own problems at the moment... But from one 'top draw' set of fans to another... I’m so proud of my fellow Evertonians who attended the BU protest on Saturday to voice their concern for the future of my club. The conduct was exemplary and we all behaved with class and dignity...
I was honoured to stand amongst all the fans as we voiced our demands for a better Everton...
I am surprised and disappointed by the clubs response to the protest, namely the club dismissing the numbers in attendance as just a couple of hundred. It is clear to all how they operate, understating the strength of support – PURE PROPAGANDA. The attendance was close to two thousand. Goodison Road was packed from the Winslow and backed up to Spellow Lane, no credible individual can claim this area held just a few hundred supporters...
I was also amazed by the clubs decision to put images of Bill up on the TV screens. The club called for unity and for fans to support the team and yet those in charge chose to test the water with an image of Bill whilst the team was winning. So much for the club wanting to keep the protest and discussion away from the players and the game. The club chose to create a division amongst the fans whilst the game was still in progress. For shame...
There was 15% or 20% of fans who applauded Bill, these guys need to wake up, before Moyes and our better players follow Arteta out of Goodison. They need to stop swallowing the well planned, well used and well rehearsed contrived spin that the club keeps churning out. They are taking us for idiots..
Once again, my respect and my thanks to those Evertonians who wish to see a better future for our club...
And I hope and pray for a better future for both of our great clubs...
All the best,
SoS
