Default Getting rid of Bruce would be a big mistake

But I can see the hot headed Ellis Short pulling the trigger
We can't afford another rebuild job, instead it makes far more sense to stick with Bruce and contunie to progress, albeit at a slightly frustrating rate.

I don't think I would be sanctioning moves to make Mensah or the Egyptian full time though whilst I've seen little positives in what Sulley Muntari brings to the table. Gyan needs to up his game too IMO and Bruce has to buy a winger who can beat a man and geta new captain in.

Stating the obvious but it's a huge 7 games for Steve Bruce

I agree about not getting rid now, it would be a big mistake to do that.
I'm prepared to wait and see how things pan out next season, I think he has earned that at least.
A few things have conspired against us this season (Injuries, the Bent saga etc...). Bruce has made some significant improvements to our squad, I think we will see the best of the players that he has brought in next season and I think you're right, we don't need another big turnover of players that a new manager would probably bring.. We're not going to go down this season, so there's absolutely no need to panic.

Don't get me wrong though I'm pretty downbeat about how we've been playing recently, as I'm sure everyone is, and I'm pretty livid having witnessed first-hand yesterday's debacle.

Similarly it could be argued not getting rid of Bruce with 7 games left is a big mistake, if the unthinkable happens. Remember all of the Mags 2 years ago proclaiming they were too good to go down? I am not convinced that we will all of a sudden turn the corner and shoot up the table now that the "easy games" are ahead of us. I hope we do like, but we have been in this situation too many times to take anything for granted.

Yep pretty much sums it up. I always thought 3 years would be a reasonable time to see what Bruce can do.

On what way is Ellis Short hot-headed?

Hmmm. Talk of Bruce going would be utter nonsense really.

But hey, it isn't as if there aren't other managers who can do a good job.

Its his club he can do what ever the fuck he wants with it, but if the last few seasons are owt to go by then he will let quinn run the show and quinn wont pull the trigger on bruce not this late into the season it would be fucking madness. I do think that should we spend in the summer and not break that top ten though short might step in like he did with keane and start asking questions.
