Yes, boat rides, a new land train thing, two play areas and as it has real parkies there are no scum bags drinking from lambrini bottles. It has a nice but pricey cafe. A maze (sort of). Yes give it a go. Check online as there are sometimes bands on at weeks too. Hope you enjoy it. I live opposite it and always enjoy taking the little one around.

I take the bairn canny often. It's a lovely park, especially when the sun is shining. Nice forecast for the weekend...

Yeah, it's a great park, I take the kids often, definitely worth going if you've never been.

Really nice place but the bairn was inconsolable when we seen a couple of hasidic(sp?) jews, the big hat and ringlet combo totally freaked her out!

Loads of them around there. There must be a settlement in the area.

Big community there now. It's the 'courting' ritual you will see in a Saturday lunchtime. The boys walk around together to look at the girls.

I like the model boat enthusiasts on the lake on a morning. My kids loved it there when they were little.

    Great park.

Was voted best in Britain a few years ago iirc

No doubt Newcastle are claiming it as belonging to then!

I take my hound (4 legs) up there to the doggy run around bit. Gives him a run about with different type of dogs, although mnay seem to have little tiny yappy things.

The black hatted people stay away from you if you have a dog
