Default The defining point of the match today

for me was McClean's miss which would have made it 2-0.

I had an argument on here a while back where I said that McClean's right foot wasn't too bad, but unfortunately he showed his lack of confidence by trying to get that on to his left foot. If that went in, 2-0 up, 2 minutes later Sess got red - wouldn't have happened, we go on to probably win the game.

oh well, all ifs and buts.

of course the other defining point for me is that Ba should have been offside for the goal as IMO it looked like he was interfering with play - put enough doubt in Mignolet's mind that he couldn't focus on Ameobi at the back post. Have to say I haven't seen replays since, but at the time it looked like that to me.

I concur. The biggest moment of the game today. Largely overlooked, but at 2-0 we would have been coasting and Sess would not have reacted.

    Massive.

I said to my brother as that happened that I think McLean had just "dropped the ashes" as it were. It turned out spot on as Sess was sent off minutes later.

So close to a magnificent day

Looked like he thought he had more time than he actually did. Krul did well to get back to it!

Said "we'll regret that" as soon as that happened.

Me too. There was no doubt with me that we'd regret that one that got away.
