    Default Any electricians out there?

I have two single switched sockets above my kitchen bench.
Can i convert one of them into a fused switch and run a double socket spur off that under the bench to plug a built in microwave and oven into?

only if you want to come home to a real fire Any work in your kitchen is notifiable to the Local Authority Building Control... fees!. Even if the total load of your cooker and microwave is less than 3kW (13A) and it is on a ring still bad idea as it will unbalance the load on it. Far better to get a new radial to your cooker.

Yes, needs to be 30amp for an Oven AFAIK. That's what the electrician fitted for me recently. There's a separate ring and trip switch for ovens.

from what i've been reading, generally it says that if it is a single oven and comes fitted with a plug it can safely be plugged into a normal socket, but read the instructions

You can have as many spurs as you like as long as t6hey are thro a fused spur. That should be no problem. If it was for an electric cooker then that would be a problem, bigger load etc. You are supposed to be PArt P etc now but if it is in yoyur own home just do it. Get it checked by a spark if need be.
