I don't work for them but I'm with them as a client and they are brilliant.
Sencia was a lengthy 50 week course where the unemployed would get signed of from JSA to work on learning about CV's and application letters as well as job hunting using papers and the net on what was called an IAP. Intensive Activity Programme. For those lucky they were asked to attend a work placement programme for four days a week with one day in centre (Wednesday was mine) to use the internet to search for jobs and learn all about CV's and application/speculative letters.
The bad thing about it was the people who work on it dealt with half a dozen people at the same time with every Monday the start of an Induction Week. Also, once you left the programme, if you didn't find work after a period of time you would have to go back on it and do it all over again.
I don't know how it came about but it was split into companies called Avantia and Ingeus to help restructure it so the advisor's all get one client who can focus on individual needs and to go through a database of jobs linked to the DWP. But it isn't as formal.
I had a guy called Chris who I was with at Sencia. I now have a guy called Peter who is a laugh but several weeks ago he said he would sent me an email of a letter I can send via email to use for applications. Still not got owt.
It is very good. So much better than Sencia.
