Default Unavoidable growing pains - Learning curve

We were the Junior Team tonight v Everton's experienced squad.

A new team v a very settled one that has loads of experience.

Expectations and home ground pressure fcked up SAFC. Did not matter who was missing. Our lads had never experienced that kind of pressure before.

It will do them the world of good next season so long as MON does not make wholesale changes in the summer.

Grit yer teeth. Cry in yer pillows. It's a rite of passage that really cannot be avoided if we are to truly mature and advance.

H'aaaaaaway, and look forward to next season. It will surely be better.

Good post, but wasting your time on here tonight. Or any night, for the matter. This forum may as well be populated by chimpanzees now for all the utter nonsense that gets posted.

yeah lack of experience was what showed for me tonight. Everton have been there and done it for years now with the same core of a team that only has parts changed every now and then. We should have held onto the ball better tonight though, some very basic errors in our play. That was the most disappointing.

I applaud the sentiment, just as I applauded it after most of our gutless capitulations of the past

but yes, we have to look forward and revel in the fact that for once we have 40 points and don't have to worry about the spectre of relegation.

Lack of my experience my arse, we had lots of experience out there tonight and ironically one of youngest players (Mig) was our best player.

But my point is that it was the first time that that TEAM had that weight of expectation in their shoulders. The derby at the SOL came nowhere near.

It will be different next year. Mark my words.
