Recommend a hotel near Southampton port?
We're off on a cruise in July, and want to book a hotel for the night before. Just wondering if anyone knew of any hotels fairly close to the port?
We're taking the car, so don't mind travelling 15 minutes or so to get to the port, meaning the hotel doesn't need to be right on top of the port, but close would be good.

If you can afford it, the de vere would be the best choice, failing that novotel and hotel ibis virtually 5 minutes from the port. The premier inn is about 10 minutes. All are walking distance into the city centre, ideal for last minute shopping at John Lewis or Marks and Spencer.

you can get parking at the terminal. check on the website for that, it has a list of the cruises, and works out the cost from there.

The one I found was this site, is this the same one you'll be on about?
http://www.cruiseparking.co.uk/site/booking/book_01.asp
I think I'm looking at the Hotel Ibis, right smack bang next to the port.

To be honest, I couldn't give a fuck if 'the board' knows that I'm going on a cruise. I wanted help locating a hotel near the port.
If I was that bothered, I'd be posting the cruise price, the cruise liner and how much spending money I was taking.
