I am a Sunderland supporter working in Newcastle, and one thing I have noticed
is Newcastle fans will watch a 3-0 defeat to Man Utd and look for the good points
and ignore the bad, by the end of the week they beleive their team was unlucky

Sunderland fans will go to WBA and get beat 1-0, and they become the worst team in the world and this board goes into "wheres are next win coming from" modeand the begin calling their players shit

All the time i have known Sunderland supporters, I don't ever them remember them just having a bit of an off day, and getting beat off a team who were better on the day.

tbf there are fans of both teams that a like you describe above - plenty Newcastle critical about their team, and plenty of Sunderland supporters think we are always unlucky

    Sunderland 0 Man City 2

They have to predict what they think will happen not what they WANT to happen, they would look like muppets if they all said we will win fower nowt when it's obvious we won't!

It's often a good sign when the panellists predict a heavy defeat, just as when they are all going for a heavy win we normally trip up.
