Interesting (goes on a bit tho)... comparing Real Madrid & Athletico fans...

I spent a weekend in Madrid in 1999 and went to see Athletico. The fans were great and the impression I got is that Athletico are the team of the locals where as Real are the team of the wider area. Certainly all taxi drivers and similar appeared to be red and white.
Incidently, I saw them lose 2-1 to Valencia, Stefan Schwartz (sp) played for Valencia and Juninho was a sub for Madrid. We lost at watford the same day.
Great city like, busier at 4am than 4pm.

which makes their self pity a bit ridiculous. 5 clubs have won the championship in the last 15 years, and they're won of them. Betis have a great support, and they've gone through a lot worse.
