    Default Favourite English author?

When I choose to read now, its rare I actually pick up stuff by English writers. I think the last English writer I read owt by was David Peace. Any recommendations?

Martin Amis has written some great stuff. London Fields and Times Arrow are two that I really enjoyed.

Enjoying reading Dick Francis at the moment.
