    Ok, so i just got here today and i hate to say it but being spontaneous isnt really working out. ive wasted so much time and have an awful hostel! is there any locals out here who can advise me wheres cheapish to stay and is also decent - ie have air con in this unbearable heat!!

    also, was thinking about going to the bulls game tomorrow evening, does anyone know how best to get there using public transport?

    last week we stayed at the salisbury on west 57th street and its good value for money. we're in virginia at the moment but going back to the salisbury in NYC on saturday for 4 more days and we're going to yankees game on monday.

    +1 stayed here as well

    does what it says on the tin, had a breakfast buffet all you can trough/steal for a snack later for $1

    not sure when you stayed there but breakfast is $6 now!!

    We are planning on gannin next year, then a train up to Boston as the wifes brother lives near there.

    I'd recommend the bus isntead of the train, leaves from Penn and costs $1 if you get in early.
