bbc radio newcastle : should it change it's name
why shouldn't it be called bbc radio north east or something after all when they mention it's name always seem to go through town's and cities throughout the north. I sure people in newcastle would be up in arms if it happened to be called bbc radio sunderland

It doesn't really matter. Sport coverage aside, it's not very good any way. It's sport coverage it 1st class and very balanced.

It is a very good station, and as he said, it has very good sport coverage.
But I do agree with the OP, there is a lot more to the area, and Radio North East would be a good identity and my improve their audience. Especially when it covers three major cities and very widespread population of listeners...
