    Default Ibrahimovic - Fabregas

Don't worry this isn't a transfer link or anything, nor anything to do with SAFC so I hope not to be shot down but I had a thought and wondered if anyone had noticed this.

Ibrahimovic went to Barca for Eto'o plus something silly like £50m but then they decide they are unwilling to spend any silly money on Fabregas, whom they seem to deem as their prodigal son. They clearly had the mental instability in the not so distant past to spend stupid money and throw away their assets in the transfer market but why not now?

They could just be playing hard to get but they really seemed reluctant to spend anymore than something like £35m.

Didn't Peter Reid decide Van Nistelrooy was a bit of a gamble too?

I'm not an Ibrahomivic hater, but I still can't believe they gave Eto'o and so much money as part of the deal.

Eto'o is such a good player, he scored a ridiculous amount of goals for Barcelona and no other striker seems to be able to score large numbers of goals in their system, Ibrahimovic, Villa, Henry have all been unable to score anything like what Eto'o managed.

Exactly, it seemed they replaced Eto'o with a lesser striker. Then in his first[and only] season, Ibrahimovic still managed to get about 16/17 goals and they moved him on. I don't know if there is a better example of throwing money down the drain other than that. Well, until we find out how much he sells for next. Even gives some of Man City's money wasting a run for it's money.

Think he was at the time, to be fair. Same with Jon Dahl Tomasson.

    Heindsight is a wonderful thing.

Thought this was a Man City thread as in the last week Mancini has been quoted saying he would love both of these players.

    Unfortunately its another Barcelona thread.

And the answer is they are in debt.
