Default Strange Football Rules- Past or Present

The main gripe with me is yellow cards for taking shirt off, just a bit of passion.

However of the past, remember when the ref could move the ball 10 yards forward for dissent?

i loved that one but typical football gave up on it

one of my old memories is players getting treatment on the pitch for injuries and none of this having to go off lark. think it was the urugyans in wc 82 or 86 that got it peddled. To this day i've seen players roll so far without contact

    The Offside Rule.

In the past - it did what it said on the tin.

    Now - fuck knows

6 second rule for 'keepers - does it still officially exist?

Free kicks which are given outside the box which would never be given as a penalty inside the box - not a law, just refs being fucking useless

I remember when the seconds rule came in instead of steps, for goalies, and the refs being initially fucking dying to penalise keepers for holding onto the ball too long. It was the season after we'd been relegated and were playing Sheff Utd away on the telly. We were in that horrific gold away top and got humped 2-0, and Perez gave away a free-kick for holding onto the ball a microsecond too long.

They sort of lost the heart to apply the rule after a while.

Wasn’t there an experiment with “kick-ins” replacing throw-ins in one of the non-league divisions years ago, or did I imagine it in a horrible nightmare? What a fucking stupid idea that was.

the thing with holding the ball too long I think the inside the box free kick was quite harsh, maybe it would have been better to give the opposing team a corner

Allowing a Premiership team to pick a squad of 25 then fining them for using the squad.

No, IIRC Shearer scored against Sheffield Wednesday(maybe not, just stick in my head for some reason, may be Derby) in the first goal to come from that rule.
