Leaving Man United. SAF has confirmed he'll not be offered a new contract. A real shame, as a player I liked him. Could have gone onto be an England regular for years.

Apparently his knees are in much better shape now and his recent injuries are just due to niggles he's getting from returning from such longterm injuries.

Might be worth a punt on a pay as you play deal, like the way Everton took a chance on Saha.

    We should never sign him

But its a shame, he looked like a quality player and one of the few who really looked like every game he played for England meant something

Pay per play only, like Owen, but yes he'd be an excellent addition to our squad.

The standing joke before the 2006 World Cup was he made the squad because he knew the way to the grounds.

His performance for 10 man England after Rooney was sent off against Portugal was Beckham against Greece-esque. Real shame if he is to retire, honest pro with real ability, and i agree i think he would have been a great asset to Englands lacklustre midfield.
