    Is it Halo 3: ODST?

If so, that's a cracking deal. The Elite is £199, so two £40 titles for £20 is a bargain.

360 reliability has improved drastically in the past 18 months Genericus. Each time you send your 360 away to Microsoft, you're simply getting a refurb in return - so they're more likely to fail. The current 360 chipsets generate a lot less heat. The 3 red rings is still a possibility, but nowhere near as much as the old 90nm chipsets.

Plus, it's a free repair. My PS3 just failed after 1 year (i bought it last August) - and they want £99 to fix it.

Aye mate, I don't know the differences but I know you get a beta for the next Halo. I know the 360 fucks up a lot but gamestation offer 2 year gurentee for £15, so i'll be getting that after whats happened to my ps3.

It's only 200 at game so would look there

if you have a look on hukd it's one of the hottest deals at the minute

get the xbox just in time to hammer it for mw2

and you can get game reward points and quidco to bring it down a bit further

my 1st 360 died 2 years ago and was out of warranty, so i bought an elite....after 6 months that one packed in sent it to MS(cant fault them...took 4 days in all) after another 3 months it fucked in again, sent it back but they tried to charge me saying it was a different console to the initial 1 and tried to charge me £130 to fix it...i refused
Eventually got it back repaired gratis...packed in again after 3 weeks, sent it back again MS then said they would exchange it for a new one, got that sent out along with a 3 month live trial and a Brand new copy of Mass Effect as an apology so i cant fault them really
The one im on now has been good for nearlly a year

In the 1st post there was no need for me to attack the reliabilty and i play my Xbox every day and love it to bits

I'm willing to bet yours still had the 90nm GPU though, which is the cause of 99% of the issues. (The Jasper 360, with the cooler 65nm GPU hit the market in December 2008).

My launch 360 is still going strong (well, maybe not strong... it's crawling along). I think i'll invest in the MW2 Super Elite in the next few weeks.

My first xbox, bought on the day of launch, only just died a month ago and I used to hammer it like fuckery.

Alot of the places you get them fixed just change the gunk and put a few heatsinks on, which doesnt totally stop the red ring and it will come back.

You can buy brand new Jaspers, pre flashed (with free flashing after that you just pay postage), for about £110 (no accessories)-£140(with everything) off the net.

I still dont see the point of the elites, money wasted imo.

How do you know they are brand new though. My mate got a 2nd hand Jasper including all accessories (I assume you mean controller, power pack, cables etc.) for £90 then paid £40 to have it flashed.

Back on the subject of Elites, my mate has just bought one, even though he had a Jasper arcade. Cant see the point, though he does have more money than sense.......Good in a way mind as I've swapped my old one for his Jasper as the person he sold his to doesn't know the difference between models so will be happy with my old RROD-prone one. Until it inevitably dies of course.
