Have we signed them and has the summer transfer market closed already? I'm not Bruce's biggest fan, but I think the kettle is calling the frying pan here.

The problem this year's been too many kids for me though. No problem with bringing in a few grown ups.

Agreed. But why come out a couple of weeks back and state we are building a young, fresh squad?

We need "men" in the team, and by that i mean, grab the game by the scruff of the neck and get it played with a bit of passion. Ball/Quinn.. You can name a few from that sort of era, but who can you name from our current lot that do that?

    Please dont say Cattermole

We need some experience, it's really as simple as that.

Even if we add 2 or 3 older players, we'll still have a very young squad. bit of experience might help next season

Completely agree, which makes it all the more galling when we've left experienced players on the bench while we've left the kids to struggle.

I don't think there's a contradiction in saying we're building a young squad and then bringing in a couple of more experienced lads. Even if we brought in two or three who were over 30, with Zenden going and the other lads who are probably going to be shown the door we'll still have one of the youngest average ages in the league.

As for your main point, I agree, that's why we need grown ups.
