The prices are obviously a guess as nobody will know how much somebody is going to cost but that would leave us with about 12m for a top striker and a mifield enforcer. Any suggestions for these positions so i can go to bed in a more optimistic mood?

Ive never really rated Gardner, hes had a cracking season and scored some good goals but hes the type of player that will be brilliant elsewhere but be totally anonymous at Sunderland.

Niko Kranjcar would be brilliant IMO, wouldnt cost the earth, good technically and has a great shot on him.

We could buy four or five players who are a good deal better than those currently occupying their respective place in the first 11, I'm hoping that's the route we'll go down.

A true LB or RB who can contirbute to attack
A good CB

A good LM
A good RM
A good CM who will allow Cattermole to play his game

An expensive Striker
A decent, experienced striker
A free target man or poacher

All perfectly achievable with 35 mill. Probably won't buy that many, that's a best case scenario, but a proper CB, FB, LM, RM and Striker at least could all be bought with that and for the loss of one player who has been hit and miss all season. Going to be a busy summer, but a good one I think.

Arsenal won't buy either, far too expensice for them and neither really fits Wenger's philosophy. Liverpool maybe but they'd be splashing serious serious money this window if so.
