Agencies are crap!

Got laid of a week ago(seems a common thing judging by some of the posts)
After firing off loads of CV applications and the rest i also registered with countless agencys to do basically anything,just to tick over while waiting for something decent.
I have had 3 calls saying can i start and have given them the thumbs up and then you just don,t hear back from them.
Rang them back countless times and just get fobbed off that they haven,t heard anything and will get on the case and ring back immedietly then don,t hear anymore again
The fuckers even text me earlier saying can i work within the next hour and again he was going to ring me back to confirm the address.....nothing
Someone said the government pay them £35 for everyone they sign up.

not sure if the govt pay them or owt but it wouldnt surprise me.

they advertise jobs that just dont exist, they are fucking parasites.

I dont work in the agency larky, i have got a couple of starts through agencies though, there are not many employers that do not use agencies, they use them as a means to do away with first interviews, if an agency does not get placements they will soon go bust.

the whole idea is fucking rotten - tallent in aycliffe is the perfect example. tallent staff get paid like 11 quid an hour on nights, agency staff doing the same job get £6.80 - tallents are paying the same money out, its just that the agency takes a wack.

if they want temporary staff im quite sure they can take temporary staff on themselves - nissan do it ffs.

the whole lot should be forced to close/brought under government control and ran in a not-for-profit way. its quite sick that they are allowed to get away with making vast sums of money out of peoples misery whilst treating them like shite.

they also make the contracts water tight - if you are working for an agency somewhere you have next to no chance of being taken on properly by the company because they have to pay the agency 14 weeks wages to release you or something.

Never temped for an agency, only had permanent starts with the company.

Im a Vehicle builder by trade but have gone for assembly work and even just a tempory labourer earlier.It,s just so frustrating to get messed about.If you here there is no work or a position has been taken by someone else fine,just don,t make me wait around like a numpty for a call thats not coming.
