    Default Steven Gerrard

Anyone else think he's actually a bit shit these days? He relied so much on his athleticism and physical attributes as a footballer it's no real surprise he's bang average now as he ages.

No way should he be in the England squad tbh. Big name but not a big player anymore.

He's done nothing for the last 2 years. Finished.

Pisses the fuck out of me how the media still rim him though. He even got MOTM from Ray Wilkins earlier this season because 'it's good to have him back'.

Been one of my favourite players in the last 10 years, but he's not done a lot recently.

Still a brilliant player but I'd put money on him getting injured before/during the tournament.

I remember that. They'll still be calling to build the team around him.

Me, if anyone else had come in and played like Gerrard this season they wouldn't be in the side.

He's obviously a talented player, but he seems very injury prone these days plus, a decent point that has been made before is that you have to accomodate him in a side because of his tendency to run where the fuck he likes and totally distort the shape of the team.

In short, England would have to build the team around him, making players understand that they have to fill the gaps he leaves, and I'm not sure that he brings even nearly enough these days to make that worthwhile.

Better than 'Frankie' Lampard, although I do realise that this is not a particularly strong argument.

Not based on this season or the cup final he isn't

    This.

He plays for the media darlings though so he automatically gets a place.
