    Default Johan Cruyff

I've just watched that world cup greats series that Richard Keys is doing on Al Jazeera.......the programmes have been excellent but the one about Cruyff was superb. What a player..... He totally rejuvenated Barcelona was the inspiration behind the Dutch Total Football and basically outclassed everything in front of him with the exception of the Germans at the World Cup. A truly magnificient player.

Saw that the other day as well. He seems to not get mentions much these days when people talk about the greats but there are few better than him.
Speed and grace combined made him a pure delight to watch.

    What does that mean?

Are you suggesting that the players now are the best ever? Fittest yes. But best?

Yet he is never mentioned as he should be as one of the greatest ever.

Love the fact he would rip one of the adidas stripes from his Dutch shirt and played with 2 stripes. Also named his son with the Catalan spelling when it was forbidden to speak the language in Barcelona.

He was that good he invented his own turn, that still get's used to this day, absolute world class player. The term world class get's bandied about way to often, and most times not merited,in his case it was well merited.
