CashPlus CreditBuilder (google it). Its a prepaid credit card (so no credit checks) that pays you an imaginary loan which you then pay off at £4.95 per month for a year. At the end of which they score your 'loan' as settled in full. Then choose to carry on or drop the credit builder part (and the £4.95) and just use it as a prepaid credit card.

I had 4 and lifted my score by 200 pts (or a 20% increase) over one year.

Get an American Express Platinum card.

You have to pay your bill every month so you can't rack up any debt.

You get shed loads of points for every £1 you spend and the rewards programme is really good

You get market leading travel insurance as part of the fee

You get access to airport lounges

There is a number you can call to sort out all your holiday bookings who will shop around so you don't have to

They will also look at sourcing other things like theatre tickets and stuff

    They look class

Centurion? Not as if you can "apply" for one either. They're invitation only.

Get a credit card..get the biggest credit limit you can get..(you dont have to use it to the full) Pay it off regularly so you dont have to pay interest on it.

The advantages are (1) if you run short of cash it is a supply of funds
    (2) If you keep the payments on it up to date it will reallly help your credit rating giving you more opportunity when you want to borrow money for house business etc.
    (3) thing bought on credit cards have inbuilt purchase protection and the credit card company is obliged to sort out problems. This can be invaluable .. and save the need to pay for purchase protection.

The only problem with Amex is that they're not as widely accepted an Mastercard......they still look class like
