    Default Cyclone Yasi

Cairns is 10 hours away from being battered by cyclone Yasi, which is due to hit landfall at 10pm (local time) today.

It's a massive storm with around 300km/ph winds and covering an enormous area. wind, rain, massive seas all at once... it's going to be a very rough night up there.

I'm there now... going to be bad... rain just started but we've been told to be ready to be evacuated at any time.\

Got my supplies though... bottle of Vodka and a Subway sandwich. Just got to ride it out

Got my Sunderland shirt on incase I make the news

On a plus note, the local bar opened early this morning, dropped its beer prices and we all had a Cyclone party. So If I'm not going to make it... at least I go with a belly full of beer

    02:59 AM..

I thought that mate but starting to get a bit nervous. Just saw a picture of it on the news and its a monster. Hospitals here have been evacuated for the first time ever.

But what can you do but get drunk. Pointless worrying about it.....
