Agreed. I can't see whatever is supposed to be good about him. Slows down every attack, dwells on the ball, rarely passes forward and he's so slow for an international centre midfielder.

Never, ever seen him play well. Either for City, Villa or England on tv. Looks like a left back out of position. Which is what he is. And at best average one at that.
