    Default ipods

finally going to buy one, what does everyone recommend?

primarily for backpacking with so not too expensive as it'll probably be lost/nicked within 7 months, but one that can store enough "choons" on to last me the time.

where's a cheap place to get them from?

    60g Black Classic Video

£105 used but in good nick, so if you lose it it's not so bad.

And plenty of space for a decent amount of choonage

Dont get an iPod, get a different brand of MP3 player - one that isn't locked down.

I wish I had. My iPod is an expensive-yet-restricted memory stick.

Did you have to do something to it to use software other than iTunes?
