....saying that the managerial appointment has not worked, gates are down, revenue and profits are not where they should be and the performances on the pitch are not acceptable. I think that you are a wonderful man but your heart is not in the business. You are good for the image of the business and have an unquestionable rapport with the fans, however, I think that you would be better in a business development role and leave the decision making to somebody more suited to the business of taking this club forward and generating a return on investment. We can talk about whether you will stay on the board at a later date once we have established who will be running the club day to day.

my take on it is that quinn reccommended bruce and probably wont want to have to honour of sacking him, that would be seen as a failing on his part, therefore steps into new role, ellis assumes total leadership, sacks bruce, problem solved, martin oneill in in next few weeks!!!

Basically what I think, but I think things will happen this week with the managerial role.

I agree, the disucssion of sacking Bruce has obviously been discussed. Quinn has probably said he'd go too if that happened as he recommended him and has backed him. This allows Quinn to stay at the club. Don't think Bruce is definitely going just yet - but the heat will be on now and he hasn't got Mr. Nice Guy Quinn to hide behind. Short will want results FAST otherwise he'll be peddled.
