Tackling
Sorry if SEB but the tackle last night that caused all the fuss - if a player's feet leave the floor but both feet meet the ball, why is it a foul?

because it is deemed as being dangerous, as the feet dont stop on contact with ball and carry through to endanger the other players leg or foot
you dont actually have to touch a player for a tackle and card to be given if you go in like this

Re: Tackling
Because it's reckless and potentially a leg-breaking tackle.
It's a coward's tackle. Absolutely no need to go diving in like that unless you have the intention of hurting someone.

Because, as seen last night, it's very dangerous.

Exactly right.
You see tackles like this every Sunday morning in the local leagues and the players/managers/refs say stuff like 'what a tackle', 'thats a mans tackle' etc... but you're spot on - its a cowards tackle and deserved a red. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't understand football in my opinion.

Re: Tackling
Becasue if both feet are off the ground, you are deemed to not be in control of your body (in terms of direction and momentum).
Quite right IMO.
Ridiculous tackle last night, and Corluka (sp?) was injured as a result. If Corluka had had his foot planted last night, as oppose to kicking through the ball, his leg would have been badly broken.
No need for a 2 footed lunge like.

Exactly. Football is a physical game, but it's about using your physicality to get and keep the ball, that's all. Muntari is an excellent example of being skillfully physical for example, great to watch. A two footed tackle has nothing to do with that, it's about being violent.

Re: Tackling
If you mistime a tackle, once both feet are off the floor there is nothing you can do to avoide collision.. Its wreckless and rightly deserves a red card

Tackling with two feet is for people who don't have the balls to tackle with one. Gutless. You'll see it a lot in 50-50 situations - one of them will slide in with one leg, and the gutless fucker will go in with two because there is less chance of him getting hurt, but more chance of his opponent getting hurt.
