I would say no for the average person. Reasonably fit already, perfect diet and then you may get results they show on tv. People selling this kit haven't got the way they are just from this sort of kit.

You can have the biggest, most ripped abs in the world but neebody will see them if you've got a big kite ower the top. Need to get your body fat% down at the same time.

Yep, probably need to drop down to around 8-10% to be perfect but I reckon you could have partly showing at maybe 14-16%.
No harm in doing ab work but reducing body fat is the key.
