Default Copying directors into complaint emails

Has anyone done this before? I complained to o2 a few weeks ago because they'd setup my direct debit incorrectly and never had a response so followed up the email with one of the directors, got a call within 2 days with an explanation of what went wrong and got £50 credit added to my mobile bill. They even mentioned that the director kicked up a fuss over the handling of my complaint.

It also worked for a friend who'd bought a card and flowers off Moonpig for his mams birthday and never arrived, he got a full refund, voucher and a bouquet of flowers was sent to his mams.

Yes, Evans caused me loads of grief last year with a bike and after 2 months of being ignored by their customer services I wrote direct to the CEO.

    Full refund within 2 weeks.

i has an issue with a fault on my car which i was basically being fobbed off by the dealer even though i had evidence of the fault being a manufacturing one from various internet sources etc etc

in the end i wrote to the customer service director of BMW UK

and amazingly i was offered an 80% discount on the work on my car despite being 5 years old , no FBMWSH and well out of warranty

    EDIT address to the letter

    FAO Director of xxxxxx

to ensure he/she gets it not just some lacky

It's funny, people just think procedures and protocol are set in stone and that some little oik on the phone has the last word on whether or not you get your money back, your bill reduced or your query answered correctly. When infact it's always someone's decision... I love it when call centre staff for insurance companies say 'oh that's the price the computer has gave me' when all they have to do is ask their team leader if they can change the figure.

Always pays to speak to someone in a position of power.

I did the same with Gentoo this year when I wasn't getting a reply about the poor standard of service I was paying for with my service charge. Copied every address I could find on the gentoo site into the email... hey presto a reply within the hour.

Whenever my mam writes a letter of complaint it goes directly to the MD. She's got a free washing machine out of it in the past as well as loads of vouchers. Shit always rolls downhill.

I complained to a regional director of the company I work for about my local store being crap and I got a face to face apology and bottle of wine
