    anybody used booking.com to book an apartment for their holidays before,have used other sites like travel republic and last check but not these?

    aye they are no bother at all - we use them quite a bit

    ive used them twice, i usually find cheaper deals elsewhere to be honest

    aye i have used them in the past and they were fine. i've looked at them recently and their prices are no better than you would get direct

    thanks for the replys,the only thing that i was unsure on was do you pay the sterling price on the list but if there are any changes to the euro do you have to pay more.

    Nah mate , once youve paid , youve paid , they can't put the price up if the Euro rate changes - also works the other way though , IE if it gets cheaper because of the exchange rate , you wont get any money back.

    as they are a booking agent they take on average 15% of room price from the hotel or guest house- sometimes you can get a better deal by going direct and asking for a discount.

    True, but in my experience they usually work out a bit cheaper than going direct, especially during busy periods when the hotel won't normally give a discount.
