    Default thirsk races

going on stag do in july. The bloke getting is married is in his 50's, albeit a young 50's, so whilst we want something busy and a good day we dont want it to be as packed as York for example where its full of pissheads.

Anybody been before ? it looks canny on the website so just looking for a heads up. Also whats thirsk like for a few pints afterwards

haven't been to thirsk races but thirsk is good for drinking, enough pubs for a decent sup. the races will be busy enough, won't be many wankers there unless it is a big meeting, are you stopping over, pub next to station is ok, red barn or red house, lock ins and b an b, pretty cheap iirc
