There is a lot to be said in that as both have not won the fans over. The present manager seems to go out of his way to wind us up, and that is before we look at the shambles he serves up at home. What I think links the two is the lack of pattern in a sides play and the fact that their teams are fucking shite to watch, and filled with really shit players.

What was SB's spend compared to MM, I'm guessing 80% -20%.

Mccarthy bought extremely badly in the 15 point season, he spent more money than Wigan and started off with a better squad than them in the first place.

He spent 5 million quid - it was hardly the amount needed to purge all memories of the 19 point season

for most teams 2-0 down only means that any time soon they will equalise. It is to be expected. Not for Sunderland. We can barely come back once 1-0 down. But we did equalise.

Just improving the first team from the previous season would have been a start. Don't think anyone expected much back then.

Not a fan of either tbh, as an outsider I do think mccarthy appears to be getting wiser as he gets older and his teams are generally organised and hard working. Whereas bruces are are either very good or poor.

Are we seriosly camparing these two as Sunderland managers?
    If so we shouldn't be.
I agree MM didnt have the funds, but come on 15 points.
