I would be very pleased with Wickham but how on earth is he worth anywhere between 5 and 6 times more then our other young prospect striker we are signing this summer?

If anything Ji has a better ratio at club level and has a 1 in 2 at International. There is only a year difference between them!

Yes, yes, English markup etc... but when paying for potential only is 4/5 X's the 'mark up' worth it?

Its easier to justify at a senior level because you can say they have been here and done it in England - But for a punt?

Is it worth pointing out that, aside from his goal against Ghana, Ji's international goals haven't exactly come against top class sides (Syria, India x 2, Uzbekistan x2).

He's played 65 games for Ipswich and he only turned 18 three weeks ago. He is English, he's big, strong, good on the deck and even if it goes tits up he'll still have a pretty good sell on value. If he does well we'll have a fantastic player on our hands who can help us progress or we sell him for daft money.
