Talking Mourinho tapping up players before he takes the Real Madrid job

    I love this man.

    http://www.teamtalk.com/news/2483/61...ration-for-duo

    Quote:
Jose Mourinho admits England duo Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are the type of players he will look to lure to Real Madrid this summer.

Prospective Real boss Mourinho is expected to be formally announced as Real's new coach in the next few days and speculation has already begun over which players he will look to bring in to shape the team in his own image.

Gerrard - who Mourinho tried to sign from Liverpool while he was Chelsea manager - and Lampard, who played under the Portuguese coach at Stamford Bridge, are two that Mourinho admires.

He told Spanish sports daily AS: "I like players in the final part of their careers.

"I love to have some players who are 33 or 34 years old...they are players that you buy and you won't recover this money, but if they give you good performances for two or three years you've got your money's worth.

"Both (Gerrard and Lampard) are great players who always give everything."

Another England international, Ashley Cole, has also been linked with a move to Real

I think Ashley will be the first. They need a left back, and that little prick would jump at the chance of some Florentino wages and spanish taxes.

Sure he was heard to say they were both "Triffic" players.

I can only think of a couple that are any better than them. Obviously A Cole is one of them, my point being is it really worth spending a fortune when you already have one of top 10 in the world

Are you kidding? It's a terrible choice to have.

Arbeloa is a right back, and even then he's very ordinary. Marcelo and Drenthe are both terrible in the fullback position and are really wide midfielders. And regardless of where he plays, Drenthe looks completely out of his depth in a Madrid team, even against minnows like FC Zurich he stuck out like a sore thumb.

Madrid are crying out for a left back. Ignoring the fact that the President cant see further back than the midfield, the left back position is probably madrid's biggest priority.
