    Default Disputes on ebay

Got two cases opened up against me on ebay after the two sellers said that their item had not turned up. I posted them at the royal mail and have proof of postage. Is there any way I can claim money back or along those lines? Smb was the first place I thought of coming

Sorry mate, proof of postage is not proof of delivery. You'd lose the disputes unfortunately.

    What were the items?
    How much are they worth?
What type of postage did you use?
Have you got a signed proof of delivery?

You'll lose the disputes with PayPal because you don't have proof of delivery.

Thankfully, since you have proof of postage, you can claim the money back from Royal Mail (up to £41 for each parcel iirc). All the info you need is here:

Aye, just pursue the claims from Royal Mail for lost items - you are only covered for a certain amount though. If you sell owt of a higher value I always offer the buyer insurance and explain what value they will be covered up to. If they don't take up the insurance offer and it goes missing tough shit.

Problem with claiming back from the Royal Mail is that they want shop receipts as proof of value - no good for vintage stuff.

If they pay via Paypal they will get their cash back no matter what you say. The insurance protects the seller, not the buyer. The buyer is covered anyway.

Is that the case if there's no money in the PayPal account of the seller (i.e. they have transferred it/spent it)? I'm sure I've heard horror stories of people being stitched up through eBay but have been unable to claim any money back as the PayPal account of the seller has been dry.

Thanks mate. Yeah the whole dispute systems is awful as the buyer is always backed. The buyer could easily have claimed that the item hadn't arrived when it actually has. The buyer also gets the amount that you had to pay for the postage back if they claim to have not received it when surely it should just be the amount that they paid for the item.
