Default Matchday Spenks - SMB Charity Match Special

Part one (so you have something to be going on with):

    Anticipation

As the wind lashed around the Raich Carter Sports Centre in Hendon, Sunderland, a truly special game of football was waiting to unfold. Over 30 assorted misfits and headcases assembled to mutter muted greetings to each other and ask 'is this the charity game like?' and 'what's your username then?'.

There was a buzz in the air, tension you could cut with a knife. After weeks of bad blood between rival managers Wilfy and Crook Mackem, a score was due to be settled. Already you could sense the bitter blood between the two sides, in the complete segregation of red and white and blue as the soon to be sporting heroes awaited their destiny...compounded by star Legends Centre Forward Barry Siddall chastising an oblivious Parsnip star for wandering over into the red and white crowd.

The two teams then made their way to the changing rooms, for final preparation. The anticipation was palpable in the Parsnip dressing room, broken by laughter when introductions were asked for, and one plucky player piped up with 'Banana Boy'. Then it was onto the pitch for team photos before commencing battle. The mood in the run up to the big kick off was jovial, although the Legends had an air of confidence that comes from experience...the Parsnip boys youthful exuberance and plucky underdog spirit would certainly be put to the test.

    Competitive

The early stages of the match showed that the game was to be played in a truly competitive fashion, with several thunderous challenges and the game being played at a breakneck speed (considering the age and weight of the participants). It was, unsurprisingly, rather scrappy. However, the deadlock was broken early on after lovely play by midfield Maestro Sneech. The Parsnips left was ripped asunder and Sneech finished with aplomb, beating Scott1CG at his near post.

Despite the loss of influential vice-captain and left back Chris Hunt (to the touchline, bright red and doubled over). It wasn't long before The Parsnip Boys were back on level terms however, with JoeMcDokes unleashing a thunderbolt into the top corner, leaving Legends keeper Whitey clutching at thin air (roughly translated means that he hit a weak, scuffed effort from 20 yards on his wrong foot which somehow trickled through Whitey's gloves and an eternity later crossed the line).

The game then became a battle, with the Legends coping better than the Parsnips with the difficult, zippy surface. They began to assert their dominance, bossing the midfield with the tenacious WillD and playmaker Sneech making the Parsnips work hard to try and win back the ball. Veteran striker Barry Siddall was causing the Parsnips defence all kinds of problems, and proved difficult to deal with throughout.

It was no surprise when the Legends went 2-1 up, with Mackem00 dancing past the Parsnips left back and slotting the ball into the back of the net. The first half was to end in controversial circumstances, with Parsnips manager Crook Mackem fielding two extra players although it was to no avail.

part 2 in progress, I'm getting tired.

Was there any fighting in and around the area with the various factions of supporters after the match?

Was Northumbrias finest in attendance to segregate the supporters ?
