    Default 6th biggest spenders

Despite all the criticism over Quinn and Short for lack of spending in the window, seems we were still the sixth biggest spenders. Will we finally live up to our big spending or will we yet again underachieve?

That doesn't consider fees we have received , think a more interesting table would be net spend .

can i quash this big spending tag once and for all.

Look at our net spend not our gross spend.

we sold henderson for £20m, ferdinand for £3m

we still hadn't spent all of the bent money, depending on how you look at it

our net spend is closer to zero the £27m

According to Sky Sports we have a net spend of £6 million which puts us somewhere near the bottom.

Agreed, it all depends on the timeframe the table refers to.

It's not a like-for-like comparison and should be done over an entire season or even calendar year.

    Not as bottom as Everton.

6 million net spend will still be a hell of a lot more than our rivals in midtable (Stoke aside). The likes of Newcastle, Villa, Spurs, Blackburn and Everton will all have a massive net income, as would Arsenal. We'd only really sink behind the teams who had no one decent to sell (QPR, Fulham, Wolves).

We also hadnt paid fully for the initial transfer in of Darren Bent..

You should take the entire picture and not a small portion of it and include the trading losses the club has been making year on year recently.............

27 and a half Million is a lot. If we had spent the rest of what we got for Hendo & Darren Bent on a striker of Bent's prowess, we would merely have stood still, on last year's team.
