Default would Mark Hughes have had the same impact as MON?

Not many SAFC fans i would imagine can moan at MON's appointment. Just a thought - supposedly it was between him and Hughes whith Short choosing MON. What would have happened if Hughes had gotton the job. Do you think we would be playing the same decent football and got the same results?

I'm sure there would be dramatic improvement, whether on the same scale and whose would last longer who knows. I personally dont see Hughes as the level of motivator that MON is, but perhaps an edge in the transfer market, don't know for sure. We can't overlook what a disarray SB had them in, good players he had recruited weren't a team, any decent manager would get some improvement at first.

wonder if SB thinks "why could i not get them to perform like that for me" or whether he just accepts he is a poor motivator

Before MON was appointed i would have probably gone for Hughes tbh, mainly for the fact that he had turned us down previosly(or rather accepted then changed his mind!) it's early days but i'm more than happy to be proved wrong, love the way he's got the club and fans buzzing again, and so far without spending a penny, well done Ellis and SNQ!

I wanted MON over Hughes (not by much) but I definately think there would of been a decent improvement under Hughes aswell, whether he would of carried that bit of luck is anybodies guess.
